Data Integrity Report

Good morning,

Sage 50 v32 Windows 11
I am glad to have stumbled on this forum and hope you can help me.
My experience of Report Design is basic and I tend to adapt existing reports.
Currently, I am trying to create a simple report to assist with ensuring data integrity, should we be unfortunate enough to suffer a cyber attack.
My thinking is that to ensure completeness of data we need to revert to the most recent backup and that a report showing the last transaction number and number of splits before the attack would be helpful. Sage does not provide for this currently, although the last transaction number is noted on the home page bottom right and in Help/About. The latter can be exported as a text file or printed and if all else fails I will resort to exporting this daily.
Ideally, my simple report would show the date (likely to be the previous day except for weekends) and time, along with the two data metrics mentioned above.
I have attached a screen shot of my WIP. When I preview, Sage is asking for transaction dates so I enter the previous day to the previous day but there is no data for the report - please can you advise? Thank you

HI Aurora

Knowing what the transaction number was yesterday, is not really going to help.

And this process is not going to help in the period after it was run.

You could use scheduled backup to put multiple backups in a dropbox/one drive.google drive (encryption recoverable) folder which would be a better solution.

Hello,

We use automatic scheduled daily backups, saved both locally and offsite.
And I understand that the last transaction number/number of splits alone are not sufficient, but they will help me if combined with other Sage checks such as the Check Data Tool and audit trail reports.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot the Report, please?
Thank you,

The last transaction number will only be recorded when the report is run.

Instead of running the report, run a backup and you are in a better position as instead of knowing the last transaction number you have a backup of everything including the last transaction number.
